The participation of the Embassy of Haiti and the Haitian community in the International Food Festival organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam on December 8, 2024 in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, was a real success. This major event, which brings together representatives of various cultures and cuisines from around the world, not only highlighted the richness and diversity of Haitian cuisine, but also strengthened the visibility of Haitian culture while consolidating the bonds of friendship between Haiti and Vietnam.
The Embassy of Haiti, in collaboration with the Haitian community in Vietnam, was able to captivate the attention of Vietnamese and international visitors thanks to a careful and authentic presentation of its gastronomy. The Haitian stand, carefully decorated and animated, offered a true immersion in the culinary and cultural traditions of our country, with emblematic dishes such as griot, national rice with djondjon, joumou soup and marinads. These dishes were particularly appreciated, and generated enthusiastic reactions from the participants.
The results obtained during the festival are worthy of the commitment of the Embassy and the Haitian community. Three awards were given to Haiti for its excellence during the event: The award for cleanliness: The Haitian stand was recognized for its impeccable environment, contributing to a pleasant and hygienic experience for visitors throughout the day. The award for the best food tasting: The authentic and exquisite flavors of Haitian cuisine were praised, in particular the unique taste of traditional dishes that delighted the palates of the participants. Best Decoration Award: The Embassy also won the distinction for the aesthetics of its stand, elegantly decorated with Haitian cultural elements, thus providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere. These awards reflect the excellence of our participation and our desire to represent Haiti proudly and authentically on the international stage. In addition, a certificate of excellence was awarded to the Embassy for its remarkable contribution to the event, thus highlighting the quality of our cultural and diplomatic engagement.
